Location: Camarillo is located in Pleasant Valley at the eastern end of the Oxnard Plain, with the Santa Susana Mountains to the north, the Camarillo Hills to the northwest, the Conejo Valley to the east, and the western reaches of the Santa Monica Mountains to the south.
Schools:Camarillo has 29 primary and secondary schools. One of the highest rated schools is Santa Rosa Technology Magnet School, which is rated 10. It has 574 children. The public schools in Camarillo belong to Oxnard Union High School District or Pleasant Valley. Recreation: The Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District, an independent special district, was formed in January 1962 under the State Public Resources Code of California. The birth of the District was approved by the voters in the Camarillo community to provide quality programs, parks and facilities that could be enjoyed by everyone. The District is located in and around the city of Camarillo, serves a population of over 70,000 and covers an area of approximately 45 square miles. It has grown from one park to 28 parks since its inception 56 years ago. Within the District, a variety of recreational facilities exist including: a senior center, an indoor aquatic center, a community center, a nature center, dog parks, lighted ball fields, tennis courts, a running track, walking paths, premier soccer fields, hiking trails, picnic pavilions, children’s play equipment, barbecue areas, fitness equipment and more!
Dining & Entertainment: Camarillo’s cute, historic Old Town is the city’s center for dining, shopping, and entertainment. Dozens of restaurants, serving up everything from authentic Mexican and Italian eats to Mongolian BBQ bowls, can be found here. Old Town retail stores specialize in home and garden supplies, personal care, recreational gear, and fashionable clothing.
